South Winton Road Rehabilitation Project (Jefferson Road to Brighton Henrietta Townline Road)

Newsletter No. 1, May 2021

MCDOT Project Extent - South Winton Road (2021)

MC-DOT: Henrietta - South Winton Road Newsletter #1 - May, 2021
(Document text in-lined below)

Current Project Status:
Construction will be starting on a new Monroe County Department of Transportation project. The project is located on South Winton Rd in Henrietta (between Jefferson Rd (NY-252) and Brighton-Henrietta Townline Rd). The Contractor for this project is Keeler Construction, and the Resident Engineer is Bill Hughes from CPL. Construction work is scheduled to begin on or around May 24, 2021.

This project will involve:

  • Re-lining of existing drainage pipes and repairs/adjustments to drainage structures/inlet grates
  • Replacement of the traffic signal at the intersection of S Winton Rd / Brighton-Henrietta Townline Rd
  • Milling/paving on South Winton Road between Jefferson Rd (NY-252) and Brighton-Henrietta Townline Rd
  • Installation of new concrete sidewalk on both sides of South Winton Rd
  • Relocation of signs and installation of new pavement markings

Traffic will be maintained on-site during construction using lane closures, shoulder closures, and alternating one-way traffic (with flaggers). Please note that some night work is planned. Access to driveways and side streets will be maintained, except when work is occurring directly in front of these access points. In these instances, there may be a brief delay until flaggers indicate that it is safe to cross the work zone.

We recognize that this project may cause a slight inconvenience, but we ask for your patience for the protection of our workers. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect the work to be completed this Fall.
