Hours of Operation
Due to the Covid -19 Crisis the Operation Center is not open to the public. However, our crews will be out and about collecting yard debris and maintaining Town infrastructure. Town crews are currently working four 10 hour days from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. Crews will be working on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. During holiday weeks our crews will be working each day except Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.
Please note that all work within the highway right-of-way requires a permit from the Town. Please read these Highway Access Guidelines for details.
The Highway Department maintains and repairs:
- Roadway drainage systems
- Street signage
- Storm sewer facilities
- The Town composting facility
- Town bridges
- Various park areas throughout the Town
- Roadway snow and ice control
- Weekly yard-debris pickup during the growing seasons
- Leaf collection in the Fall
The Highway Superintendent oversees the Brighton Operations Center, which includes the Highway Department and the Sewer Department.

The street lights in the Town of Brighton are owned and maintained by the Rochester Gas & Electric Company (RG&E).
