Our schools are some of the very best in the State, with award winning academics, music, arts and athletics programs. Monroe Community College is located in Brighton, and the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology are also nearby.
The Brighton Memorial Library offers many programs for the young and the young at heart. Our Town Park System consists of approximately 500 acres of scenic beauty, including Meridian Centre Park, which borders the Historic Erie Canal, the glacial beauty of Corbett’s Glen, and the playing fields at Buckland Park and Meridian Center Park.

About Supervisor William W. Moehle
The Supervisor is the Chief Executive Officer of the Town of Brighton, and is head of the administrative branch of town government. The Supervisor also serves as one of the five members of the Town Board and presides over all meetings of the Town Board. The Supervisor is elected for a term of two years. The Supervisor is responsible for the general administration of Town government, law enforcement and for fiscal administration of the Town. The Supervisor represents the Town at a variety of official and community functions.
Bill Moehle was elected Brighton Supervisor in November 2011 and was sworn into office as Supervisor on January 1, 2012. He is also an attorney, who practiced law in the Rochester area for over 32 years before being elected Supervisor. He served for over 18 years as Attorney to the Town of Brighton, where he represented the Town in matters concerning all aspects of Town government, served as counsel to the Town Board and Historic Preservation Commission, and drafted laws and ordinances for the Town.
Bill has lived in Brighton for over 32 years. He holds a B.A., cum laude, from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law. He has been active in a number of community activities, including Brighton Rotary, where he is Past President and Assistant Governor of Rotary District 7120, the Brighton Chamber of Commerce, where he is also Past President and ex-officio Member of the Board of Directors, the Landmark Society of Western New York, Inc., where he serves on the Board of Directors, and the Monroe County, New York State and American Bar Associations. He has been a frequent speaker on municipal law topics to the New York State Association of Towns and National Business Institute.
