The Investigative Services Unit of the Brighton Police Department assists the Patrol Division with follow up and specialized investigations. The Investigative Services Unit Supervisor reviews all crime and incident reports received by the Department and determines the appropriate direction of follow up investigations.
The type of crimes investigated by the unit varies from violent crimes such as Assault, Robbery, Rape, Burglary and Murder to economic based crimes such as Grand Larceny, Larceny, Fraud and Identity Theft.
A member of the Investigative Services Unit meets weekly with investigative representatives from other Law Enforcement agencies from Monroe County. Information on crime trends and suspect information is shared during these meetings.
